Speech communication,BEL490.
March 28, 2008
Oh yes, i just finished presenting my Bel490 speech communication last wednesday. I chose the benefits of joining taekwondo as my topic.
I felt realeased coz after this I dont have to think about BEl490 anymore, I am all DONE for this semester …
(eventhough i DID NOT presented nicely)
But you know what happened? My room mate copied my powerpoint presentation WITHOUT asking my permission. I AM piss off a bit coz to me copying my work without asking my permission is considered as stealing right?
I asked him to check my powerpoint presentation which I saved in my flash drive the night before my presentation day. I was only wanted to make sure that my powerpoint is working or not , that’s why I asked him to check for it. Ohya, He is taking the same subject too (BEL490 speech communication).
Ask me,how did I find out on how he copied my powerpoint slideshow?
I went home after my presentation. I saw few rough printed papers on his table. HUH! kantoi. He’s gonna present my topic with the same main ideas that morning too. This is NOT what you call last minute work. . It’s even worst than that, it’s a CRITICAL LAST MINUTE WORK. ANd most importantly, HE SToLE my masterpiece man!! DAMN!
Sigh. I hate to say this, BUT I AM ACTUALLY very furious..
Dont steal from me.
I just hate it.
ALL you have to do is ASK for it..

My main objective of delivering this speech is to inform you the importance of early sex education among children. The importance of early sex education are it protects children from being sexually abused, it keeps children especially teenagers from unwanted pregnancies and it avoids children or teenager from committing pre-marital sex. As the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. Sex abused is the hardest reality that we face in our country. My first point is that early sex education protects children from being sexually abused. Despite of the increasing number of news reports about child molestation, there is reluctance to talk about the issue of children being sexually abused in our society. Girls as well as boys can be victims of sexual abuse. Anyone can be an abuser and that includes uncle, friend of the family, teacher—the list goes on and on. In the majority of cases, children never tell anyone when they were sexually abused. This is because they do not feel safe to tell since sex at all is taboo in many families. If a child can’t talk about healthy sexuality and normal bodily functions comfortably, how can a little girl or boy ever tell someone about sexual abuse? They need to have sufficient information about sex , to be precise in this case, sexual abuse. Victims of sex abuse struggle with anxiety, fear, issues of trust, safety, and self-esteem. Not only it adds trauma for child, it also leaves countless repercussion which may last a lifetime. Even after much time has passed the effects of sexual abuse are powerful. Trusting people will be never be easy for the victims of sexual abuse especially trusting the opposite sex. Female who have been abused by male often say that they don’t trust men anymore, some claims that men only want sex. They may have qualms about mingling around with other people either in the same environment or in the new environment. Some of them isolate themselves due to lack of self-esteem. Children with low self esteem have difficult time dealing with problems and are overly self-critical and can become passive, withdrawn and depressed. They might hesitate to try new things, may speak negatively about themselves, are easily frustrated and often see temporary problems as permanent condition. Plus, having people all around them especially strangers make them feel very insecure. The fears and anxiety have become the scars from the sexual abuse incident. My second point is that with early sex education, it keeps children especially teenagers from unwanted pregnancies. They say pregnancy is one the most pivotal moments of a woman’s life but not when they are young with a bright future ahead. In fact, teen pregnancy is one of the experiences that any young women can go through because being pregnant during teen hood will never be easy. These young mother-to-bes are in risk of major areas of life such as failure, poverty, physical or mental illness.
A proper medical care is a necessity to pregnant women. Pregnant teenagers may not seek proper medical care that may lead to a bigger risk of medical complications. Thus, an increased risk for complications such as premature labor in teen pregnancy and socioeconomic consequences are present. In their pregnancy, they need understanding, medical care, and education particularly in nutrition and complications of pregnancy. Pregnancy to teenagers brings all sorts of emotions. Some do not want their babies while others feel that its creation is an achievement. Some feel guilty and anxious while others feel that they need the baby to love but not aware of the special care it would need.
